On the 29th, Overs Inc. announced that it will fully launch the new idol group creation project "IDOL3.0 PROJECT", which is being carried out with Yasushi Akimoto as general producer.
The aim is to create an idol group that is not bound by traditional idol images, areas of activity, or group management, but is updated to meet the changing times and needs.
Recruitment of members will begin in early April, and information sessions will be held in seven cities nationwide. After multiple auditions, the group will debut this fall.
According to the announcement, the project will be managed by staff who have been involved in the development of popular idol groups such as King Records Co., Ltd., AKB48, Nogizaka46, Hinatazaka46, Sakurazaka46, IZ*ONE, and =LOVE.
In order to create a new boom in the Reiwa era, the project will be led by cutting-edge staff.
The operating funds for this project will be raised through an IEO of the cryptocurrency "Nippon Idol Token (NIDT)" issued by Overs.
Applications for the IEO lottery began on the same day at domestic cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbook and DMM Bitcoin.
Applications for purchases are open until April 19th, and NIDT will be delivered on April 24th. The selling price is 5 yen per NIDT, and the minimum number of applications is 1,000 NIDT per unit, with a maximum of 10,000 units.
In the future, NIDT holders will be given benefits such as participation in some productions, invitations to exclusive events, and the granting of NFTs.
NIDT is a cryptocurrency issued by Overs for this project, and is a utility token issued on the Ethereum blockchain. It will be issued to promote the project, and users will be able to support and encourage idol activities through NIDT.
The NIDT ecosystem will be formed around traditional idol activities such as concerts and events, but also new idol activities utilizing technologies such as NFT and the metaverse.
Yoshihito Sato, CEO of Overs, said in a statement, "We will utilize Web 3.0 technology and the cryptocurrency NIDT to create the first idol group with a concept that has never been done before, and we would like to create it together with our fans."
In the future, recruitment for members of the female idol group will begin in April, and the candidates will be selected after final auditions and training camps from August to September. Singing and dancing lessons will begin in September, and the members will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2023, when they will begin activities such as live performances and NFT sales.
At the same time, they are also planning to release their debut single and launch the metaverse.
