On the 9th, SBI DAH (SBI Digital Asset Holdings), a subsidiary of the SBI Group, and Chiliz, which handles fan tokens, etc., announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership and will establish a joint venture in Japan.
Through this partnership, Japanese fans will be able to access fan tokens issued by globally popular soccer clubs such as UEFA Europa League, AC Milan, Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain.
They also explain that innovative sporting events will be created through unprecedented rewards such as game day activations and fan-related decisions.
Chiliz develops and operates Socios.com, one of the world's largest Web 3.0 wallets and fan engagement platforms with over 2 million users. More than 70 types of fan tokens have been issued in partnership with partner sports teams around the world.
Chiliz's fan tokens have recorded trading volume of over $300 million (about 46.7 billion yen) in 24 hours and are listed on 21 cryptocurrency exchanges.
SBI DAH explains that its strategic partnership with Chiliz will be a groundbreaking step in the integration of blockchain and fan communities. By holding fan tokens, users will be able to participate in decision-making and receive exclusive rewards.
After establishing the joint venture, Chiliz plans to build a system that will smoothly connect its business and customers to a global network, and with the support of the SBI Group, which has a customer base of over 50 million, Japanese fans will be able to easily participate in the global fan community.
In addition to establishing the joint venture, SBI DAH said it will participate in Chiliz Chain as a node operator and play an important role in the governance of Chiliz's Web 3.0 ecosystem.
