[NEWS] Sony Bank to release Web 3.0 app linked to NFTs and digital securities this summer

Sony Bank announced on the 5th that it will release "Sony Bank CONNECT" as a smartphone app for the Web 3.0 entertainment field. With an eye on the coming Web 3.0 era, the aim is to contribute to the expansion of the creator and fan economic sphere.

Sony Bank CONNECT is an app with the theme of "Anyone can enjoy it easily and with peace of mind. Connecting to a wider range of moving experiences." It will provide a function to display and enjoy the NFTs you own by connecting to the NFT marketplace "SNFT" operated by SNFT.

At the time of release, Sony Bank explains that users will be able to enjoy NFTs that Sony Bank has distributed in past campaigns, as well as digital content distributed to users who purchase the bank's digital securities and answer surveys.

Sony Bank CONNECT will continue to expand its functions after release in the future by incorporating user requests. In addition, the company is currently working on developing a blockchain-based wallet, and will proceed with requirement definition and design in preparation for the release.

Working on the development of its own blockchain with Aster

Sony has continued to work on Web 3.0 as a group.

Also, in September last year, Sony Network Communications announced that it would establish a joint venture with Starrale Labs, led by Astar Network founder Sota Watanabe, to develop its own blockchain.

The new company will be based in Singapore and will develop a blockchain that will serve as a global infrastructure to create Web 3.0 killer use cases that make the most of blockchain.
