Mysten Labs, developer of the Layer 1 blockchain SUI, and BytePlus, an enterprise technology services subsidiary of TikTok developer ByteDance, announced that they are partnering to explore blockchain gaming and AI development projects.
According to SUI's announcement, the two companies will explore data warehousing, AI recommendation algorithms, and AI visual algorithms in the Web 3.0 gaming platform.
Through this partnership, Mysten Labs said it will explore ways to build the SUI community, as well as strengthen hackathons and education programs.
Evan Cheng, co-founder and CEO of Mysten Labs, said, "The integration of cutting-edge AI recommendation and visual algorithms into SUI will mean a dramatic improvement in the user experience within the Web 3.0 gaming platform and SocialFi projects."
BytePlus offers a range of products for developers, including AI recommendation algorithm solutions and the BytePlus CDN, a network of servers and data centers for accelerated delivery.
According to Misten Labs, these products will enable builders to promote collaboration on blockchain games with major game development companies.
Increasing attention to blockchain game projects
As we enter 2024, attention to blockchain game projects is increasing.
In March, Australian venture capital firm King River Capital, blockchain game development platform Immutable, and Polygon Labs partnered to launch a $100 million Web 3.0 game fund.
In addition, venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) announced this month that it would invest $30 million in game-related startups. The deadline for funding applications is May 19, and the investment recipients will be decided at the end of July.
In addition, South Korean gaming giant Nexon also announced last month that it will use layer-1 blockchain Avalanche to create an on-chain version of the popular RPG "MapleStory," and this shows that interest in full-scale blockchain gaming is on the rise.
