Lawsuit withdrawal and reserve bill passed on the same day

On the 27th, the US state of South Carolina withdrew its lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. In addition, on the same day, state Rep. Jordan Pace filed a Bitcoin (BTC) reserve bill.

In June 2023, South Carolina sued Coinbase, claiming that the company offered unregistered securities through its staking service.

This lawsuit was also against the backdrop of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suing Coinbase for offering unregistered securities. However, the SEC, which took over under the Trump administration, recently withdrew the lawsuit.
