Tether Freezes USDT Worth Approximately 28.8 Billion Yen

Whale Alert, a service that tracks on-chain transactions, reported on the 11th that approximately $180 million (about 28.8 billion yen) worth of the stablecoin USDT had been frozen on the Tron (TRX) blockchain.

The report was made in five parts, and the total USDT balance of the frozen addresses amounts to about 180 million USDT. While the reason for the freeze has not been officially announced, it appears to have been done in response to requests from law enforcement agencies.

A spokesperson for Tether, the issuer of USDT, told 'The Block' that the assets targeted for freezing have not been clearly identified, but it seems to involve multiple law enforcement agencies.
