AI services dominated by prompts Explanation of how it is used in different industries!
AI services are spreading around the world in the blink of an eye, with ChatGPT, which sparked the AI chat boom, surpassing 100 million users in the fastest time in history.
However, many people who actually use them say that they do not work as expected. The reason for this is that they do not understand the characteristics of AI and have not correctly entered the ‘prompts’.
AI can be used in a variety of industries to improve operational efficiency and new business if used correctly, so it is important to understand it thoroughly while you still can.
To master AI, you need to be able to visualise what you want and verbalise it.
Many people have tried using popular AI services, but did not get the answers they wanted, or asked simple questions and saw the answers, but did not know how to use them further.
There is no doubt that this is some amazing technology, but many people may feel that there is no point in using it in everyday life. In fact, ChatGPT, which was released in November 2022 and triggered an AI boom, has also seen a decline in monthly access for the first time since its release in June 2023.
AI does not easily output everything and anything humans want; techniques and knowledge are required on the human side to master AI. In particular, for text and image generation, which are considered highly versatile, the quality of the prompts (sentences used to command the AI) can significantly change the output.
For example, rather than the prompt ‘tell me about Web 3.0’, it would be more detailed and accurate to write ‘list the technologies involved in Web 3.0’ or ‘tell me what will change with the technology called Web 3.0’ AI can only output sentences and images based on information given by humans. images, it can only output images, so it needs to tell humans exactly what they want.
The concept is similar to communicating with humans or managing subordinates. If you give them the information they need, tell them exactly what you want and then ask for their output, you are more likely to get a better response.
AI is often thought to be able to do everything on its own, but in reality it requires advanced communication skills.
Recently, the term ‘prompt engineering’ has even been coined to refer to the technology of creating high-quality prompts. And if you search the internet, you will find a large number of examples of prompts to get better answers. Of course, collecting and memorising them will increase the likelihood of obtaining the optimum output.
But that alone is not an essential solution. This is because AI software is evolving on a daily basis, and ‘good prompts’ change according to various conditions. Naturally, the content of the required prompts will also change between text-generating AI and image-generating AI. Furthermore, the ‘good prompt’ will be different for each service.
The ability to understand the characteristics of AI and to hone one's verbalisation skills so that one can create prompts to get the answers one wants is what is required to master AI. Once this is mastered, AI services can be effective beyond mere writing and image creation.
