ブロックチェーンゲーム Game Review Vol.3

Breaking away from the biggest appeal of earning money.

A number of new titles are being announced that aim for long-term game management, avoiding an ecosystem in which players may earn high short-term profits.

Blockchain games have gained attention through the “Play to Earn” mechanism, but from 2023 onward, an increasing number of titles seem to be aiming to move away from the main appeal point of “earning money.

As for game content, the majority of games require strategic thinking and player skill. In Japan, competitive games that emphasize strategy, such as card battles, and outside of Japan, competitive shooting games, such as FPS, seem to be actively being developed.

The idea that “earning money” is secondary to blockchain games and that the fun of gameplay is what is important is gaining ground.

1.Citizen Conflict

Free-to-play PvP shooter with plans to become an e-sport

A new game in the PvP shooting genre that is gaining popularity in the PC game market. The game is set in the dystopian “Aether Islands,” where players engage in fierce battles. The game is not a pay-to-win game (players become stronger by paying more), but rather, players' skills will determine who wins the game.

After the game's release, it has already been announced that, as an e-sports title, tournaments with cash prizes will be held on a regular basis. It is also said that loot earned through the game will also be a means of earning revenue. The game will not be released until 2024, but alpha testing is already underway.

The game has the concept of classes, and each character has different characteristics. The combination of classes will be important in team battles. The game features “Syndicate War” mode, in which players compete with enemy teams to expand their territory, and “COMPETITIVE” mode, in which players aim to destroy the enemy team.

2. PROJECT XENO

Famous YouTubers become ambassadors

In this PvP game, popular YouTubers such as Hikaru and Manny Pacquiao have been appointed as ambassadors. 3 types of characters are selected from 6 classes, and each character has 4 cards to play against each other.

It is a highly strategic game where victory or defeat depends on the player's reading of the game. The in-game environment and character advantages and disadvantages change with updates, so be sure to gather information when playing.

This game can be played for free, but the Earn function is greatly enhanced by purchasing NFT for characters and equipment. Influencers and celebrities from around the world have been appointed as ambassadors, aiming to gain global popularity.

3. NFT COSMIC CARD GAME

BCG adaptation of “Cosmic Card Game,” a competitive analog card game for two players!

A new blockchain game announced on June 30 by Cyberstep, a company known for developing online games. The game is based on “Cosmic Card Game,” an analog card game for two players developed and operated by the company.

The release date is undecided, but the company has released a roadmap for the future, and it is expected to be a competitive game that will test players' skills, as there are plans to “hold competitions with prizes”. The roadmap also includes plans for an “animated series.

Cards are classified into four categories: “Robots,” “Parts,” “Items,” and “Operations.” The NFT COSMIC CARD GAME is based on the cosmic robots and humanoids that appear in the PC online games “Steel Senki C21” and “Cosmic Break Universal. and Cosmic Break Universal.
