Breaking away from the biggest appeal of earning money.

A number of new titles are being announced that aim for long-term game management, avoiding an ecosystem in which players may earn high short-term profits.

Blockchain games have gained attention through the “Play to Earn” mechanism, but from 2023 onward, an increasing number of titles seem to be aiming to move away from the main appeal point of “earning money.

As for game content, the majority of games require strategic thinking and player skill. In Japan, competitive games that emphasize strategy, such as card battles, and outside of Japan, competitive shooting games, such as FPS, seem to be actively being developed.

The idea that “earning money” is secondary to blockchain games and that the fun of gameplay is what is important is gaining ground.
