NTT Docomo announced on the 20th that it has developed a blockchain game called "GT6551" and will begin offering it in the spring of 2025. Prior to this, a beta version will be available from January 29th next year.
According to the announcement, Docomo has adopted ERC6551, the standard for Ethereum (ETH). This standard is characterized by the ability to combine multiple NFTs into one. According to Docomo, this is the first blockchain game in the world to offer NFT functions that can be customized (configured).
"GT6551" was developed with a focus on the functions of this ERC6551, and users can freely combine multiple NFTs such as car parts into a racing machine, which is one of the NFT items used in the game, to customize it, and create an NFT item that combines them into one. The racing machine created can be owned as an original collection (asset).
In the game, you can also combine multiple NFTs into a racing machine to improve the machine's performance. Docomo explains that these features will give players more freedom and allow them to enjoy a new gaming experience.
"GT6551" is a racing blockchain game that can be played on the metaverse "MetaMe" developed by Docomo. Racing machines can be customized by combining two types of NFTs: "parts NFTs" that customize the performance and design of racing machines, and "driver NFTs" that customize the driver who rides the racing machine.
Through the development of "GT6551," Docomo aims to expand the use of "MetaMe," as well as pursue the value and appeal of ERC6551 to develop new technologies and services such as the metaverse and Web3.0, with the aim of further popularizing Web3.0 and accelerating its implementation in society.
