Mercoin, a subsidiary of Mercari, Japanese company which operates a flea market app, and provides and develops blockchain services, announced on the 21st that it will begin offering a new Ethereum (ETH) trading service. Ethereum is the first cryptocurrency trading item added to Mercari's trading list.
Mercari has previously offered Bitcoin (BTC) trading services, but now it will be possible to purchase Ethereum from as little as 1 yen, using the earnings from selling items no longer in use on Mercari, and points.
Mercari cited the fact that it received many requests from users as the reason for starting the Ethereum trading service. In a survey of users of its Bitcoin trading service, the most common response was that they wanted to handle Ethereum.
Mercari decided to offer an Ethereum trading service in response to these user needs.
Mercari also stated that the addition of Ethereum, which has different characteristics from Bitcoin, has made it possible to purchase cryptocurrency in combinations that suit one's preferences.
In the future, they plan to expand the experience of "holding Ethereum" by taking advantage of Ethereum's strengths.
