Oasys, a blockchain company specializing in games, has announced a partnership with Korea's leading information and communications platform SK Planet.
The two companies will transform the blockchain gaming and rewards landscape, and Oasys will leverage SK Planet's vast user base and technical capabilities to bring more users into the world of blockchain gaming.
SK Planet's popular Web 3.0 wallet UPTN Station will also integrate Oasys Hub.
With SK Planet becoming an Oasys validator, users will be able to stake Oasys tokens from their wallets to SK Planet nodes.
UPTN Station also plans to incorporate games into Oasys' Layer 2. Users will be able to enjoy blockchain games powered by Oasys.
OK Cashbag, operated by SK Planet, has 75,000 affiliated stores and 28 million members. It boasts a wide user base in Korea, allowing Oasys to expand staking.
Jeong In-cheol, team leader at SK Planet, said, "We hope that this partnership will make it easier and more convenient for customers to use the Web 3.0 environment. We expect great synergy effects from combining the strengths of both companies, such as introducing Oasys network content IP to customers through UPTN Station in the future."
Oasys Director Daiki Moriyama said, "This partnership will bring innovation to the adoption of Web 3.0 in Korea. Protocol-level efforts to promote the adoption of blockchain games will be significantly strengthened, and developers will be able to leverage SK Planet's vast user base through campaigns and promotions via UPTN Station.
Game developers will have access to a large platform, and gamers themselves will be able to enjoy richer content. The Oasys ecosystem will grow through partnerships with game companies and major companies with millions of users. In addition to SK Planet in Korea, this includes SoftBank and KDDI in Japan. Such partnerships will create new opportunities by integrating the currently fragmented user journey and distribution channels of Web 3.0 game content into a seamless one, consolidating user authentication, payment, and promotion."
This partnership will develop new channels to improve users' gaming experience, and UPTN Station's future community functions will add a variety of Oasys games and also implement campaigns to promote more active user engagement on Web 3.0.
Expanding Oasys's hit game users
In the future, UPTN Station will be integrated into Oasys's Verse (Layer 2), allowing users to directly enjoy collaborations and campaigns with Oasys games. In 2024, Oasys plans to release a number of hit titles, including Battle For Three Kingdoms and Champion Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles.
However, no matter how broad the user base is, the number of blockchain game players will not increase if the content is not interesting. Future developments will depend solely on the content. The same is true in Japan, where no matter how much SoftBank and KDDI collaborate with Oasys, no one will participate without hit content.
