Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), revealed on the 19th that the Ethereum Foundation is currently undergoing organizational reforms. He said that some reforms have already been made, and that more will be done in the future.
According to Buterin, the series of organizational reforms have been in the works for a year. Specifically, they are working on the following:
- Increase the level of technical expertise of the Ethereum Foundation leadership
- Improve two-way communication and connections between the Ethereum Foundation leadership and new and existing stakeholders in the ecosystem, including individuals, companies, app developers, wallets, and Layer 2
- Attract new talent and improve execution and speed
- More actively support app developers, bringing important values and inalienable rights to users, especially privacy, open source, and censorship resistance
- Continue to increase the use of decentralized and privacy technologies and the Ethereum chain, including payments and financial management
On the other hand, they will avoid lobbying regulators and prominent politicians, Ethereum becoming a place of vested interests, and Buterin taking a "main character" position in the ecosystem. In particular, lobbying "risks threatening Ethereum's position as a globally neutral platform," and emphasized his negative view.
However, Buterin said that the vision of the Ethereum Foundation remains unchanged, and that "we welcome the establishment of independent organizations by people who seek different goals."
