[NEWS] DMM Crypto partners with mapping project "Hivemapper"

DMM Crypto has announced a partnership with "Hivemapper," a blockchain-based DePIN mapping project that uses AI and dedicated dash cameras to collect map data, and will jointly begin demonstration experiments such as fleet (corporate-owned vehicle) business.

Hivermapper is a Web 3.0 project in which road images are posted by various communities, from individual drivers to large-scale vehicle operators, and the latest maps are created.

Drivers can earn a unique token "HONEY" by providing highly accurate data using a dedicated mapping device (dash camera).

The collected images are mapped by AI. Businesses that use the map data can easily use it by accessing the API for a fee.

Hivemapper is an advanced attempt to create global map data through the daily driving of drivers around the world, and is said to be the most successful DePIN project to date.

The latest maps are generated and updated in real time based on highly accurate, privacy-protected video data collected by drivers while driving.

Hivemapper has succeeded in creating more than 15 million kilometers of maps in just 20 months since the launch of its service. This is more than five times faster than the time it took conventional map service companies to create maps.

While conventional map data services update their data every year to several years, Hivemapper's map data is constantly updated by drivers, and two of the world's top 10 map manufacturers are already using it to keep their maps up to date and accurate.

Hivemapper's data is used in navigation services, home delivery, the real estate industry, and for safe driving of self-driving cars. 

DePIN stands for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks, and is one of the most notable fields in the Web 3.0 field.

It is a project that utilizes blockchain technology to provide a new approach that differs from traditional centralized infrastructure management and builds a decentralized physical infrastructure network.

DMM Crypto, a blockchain game

DMM Crypto is a DMM group company established in January 2023 by DMM.com LLC with the aim of developing Web 3.0 businesses such as blockchain games and NFT projects. 

In order to provide a new entertainment experience in the digital space using its own token, the company launched the Web 3.0 project "Seamoon Protocol" in 2023. It has issued its own token "SMP" and plans to provide content such as blockchain games.

This partnership alliance includes a sales agency contract for the Hivemapper Dash Cam series in Japan and overseas, and the operation of the Hivemapper Fleet business in Japan and overseas. 

Furthermore, to support the mass adoption of Hivemapper in Japan, the company will work on a Deive to Earn business in which general drivers can participate using Hivemapper's functions, work with transportation and delivery companies to improve the treatment of professional drivers, and expand the fleet business in collaboration with automobile manufacturers and exporters.
