[NEWS] Metaplanet officially acquires exclusive rights to operate "Bitcoin Magazine Japan"

On the 25th, Metaplanet announced that it had signed an exclusive license agreement with BTC Media Inc., a US company, and officially acquired the right to launch "Bitcoin Magazine Japan." Metaplanet had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Bitcoin Magazine in July of this year to acquire exclusive operating rights for Bitcoin Magazine Japan.

Metaplanet aims to be the central source of information on Bitcoin in Japan through the launch of Bitcoin Magazine Japan.

The company aims to fully launch the magazine during the first quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2025, and will actively recruit talent in areas such as editing, content creation, management, and social media. It added that it will "focus on building a world-class team" to make Bitcoin Magazine Japan the leading platform for Bitcoin education and community building in Japan.

Bitcoin Magazine is a specialized Bitcoin media launched in 2012. It was acquired by BTC Inc. in 2015 and is operated by the company's subsidiary BTC Media Inc. It provides technical commentary and news about Bitcoin, and is also known as the "Bitcoin Bible."

Bitcoin Magazine is also the organizer of "Bitcoin 2024," a large Bitcoin conference where President-elect Trump, who won the US presidential election, gave a speech. It is also known that Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, wrote for the media shortly after its launch.

Metaplanet has been accelerating its investment in Bitcoin since the beginning of this year. It has already become one of Japan's leading Bitcoin holding companies, with its total holdings reaching approximately 16 billion yen.

In addition to utilizing Bitcoin, the company is also showing its commitment to educating people about Bitcoin. With the launch of Bitcoin Magazine Japan, it is expected to provide a variety of content specialized in Bitcoin.
