MicroStrategy announced on the 11th that it had purchased additional Bitcoin (BTC).
The amount of Bitcoin purchased was 27,200 BTC, which is about 2.03 billion dollars (about 312 billion yen). The average acquisition price was about 74,463 dollars (about 11.45 million yen).
As a result, the Bitcoin held by MicroStrategy at the time of writing is 279,420 BTC, equivalent to about 3.75 trillion yen. The average acquisition price to date is 42,692 dollars (about 6.55 million yen).
Currently, Bitcoin has far exceeded 80,000 dollars (about 12.3 million yen) and is breaking its record high every day, and in response to this, MicroStrategy's stock price has also risen significantly. In trading on the 11th, it recorded 340 dollars (about 52,220 yen), up 25.73% from the previous day. This surpasses the all-time high the company recorded on March 10, 2000.
Also, among cryptocurrency (virtual currency)-related companies, the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase saw its stock price rise by 19.76%, reaching the $300 (approximately 46,000 yen) range for the first time since November 2021. In both cases, buying was driven by the strong cryptocurrency market.
