Monica Long, president of Ripple, said in an interview with Bloomberg on the 7th that an XRP ETF will be realized soon.
Currently, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) ETFs are traded in the United States, but Long said, "XRP will likely follow suit."
Last October, CEO Brad Garlinghouse also mentioned an XRP spot ETF, saying, "It's inevitable. I'm convinced that it's inevitable." Long's comments follow this.
Bitwise and WisdomTree have already applied for an XRP spot ETF, but considering how long it took for Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs to be realized, the possibility of approval is unclear. Nevertheless, Long said, "With the inauguration of the new administration, ETF approval will accelerate." President-elect Trump has a positive attitude toward crypto assets (virtual currencies), which is expected to influence the approval of crypto asset ETFs.
He also mentioned that RLUSD, a US dollar-linked stablecoin issued by Ripple and released in December last year, "will soon be traded on major crypto asset exchanges." He emphasized that the range of use is expanding day by day. According to Long, Ripple's settlement business grew significantly last year. He expressed the view that RLUSD will play an important role in the future.
