Qi充電技術の発展で宇宙太陽光発電は可能となるか?

Will Wireless Power Transmission Realize Space Solar Power?

A giant robot stands motionless, its energy depleted. In a moment of dire crisis, a mysterious beam of light rains down from a base, recharging and rebooting it... Many might recognize this scene, though it's not something seen with real weapons, but rather a familiar scenario for sci-fi enthusiasts.

When I first encountered the Qi standard for wireless charging on smartphones, this exact scene flashed through my mind. 'Could this technology evolve to make such dreamlike energy replenishment a reality?' I wondered.

If so, the long-held dream of sci-fi fans, 'space solar power', might become reality. Space solar power involves generating solar power via satellites positioned outside Earth's atmosphere and transmitting that power back to Earth—a grand vision indeed.

...And while I speak excitedly, I must confess that I don't fully understand the mechanics of wireless power transmission myself, nor am I well-informed about the current research in this area.

Recently, a TV special on 'the future of wireless power transmission' was aired, showing scenes where smartphones charge simply by being in a specific room. If this technology continues to develop, perhaps space solar power could eventually become feasible. Prompted by this, I decided to further investigate wireless power transmission.
