"Can I shake your hand at the end?"
I, a humble editor, was deeply honored by the words of the young man with sparkling eyes. At the same time, I felt a sense of elation, as if I had found a candle in the dark.
As a media partner of "IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO" for three days from June 28th, Iolite also supported the event to liven up the event. IVS has been hosting conferences that bring together executives of startup companies since 2007.
When I participated in IVS held in Okinawa last year, I had only been editor-in-chief for three months and had almost no knowledge or connections in the Web 3.0 field. To me, the speakers seemed like distant beings, like beings above the clouds, and I remember thinking, "I would like our media to participate as a media partner one day and participate in a panel discussion myself."
To be honest, last year, I had a lot of magazine submission work overlapping, so all I remember is that I went to Naha Airport with the CEO and washed down some soki soba and island scallions with Orion beer, then rushed to the plane.
But this year, on the middle day of the event, I was able to lose track of time and enjoy a meal of Kyoto cuisine with the CEO. I am grateful to IVS for giving me two memories of travel destinations where time flows in completely different ways.
The topics of the panel discussion at the side event included "What made you get into the Web 3.0 field?" and "What do you find interesting about the Web 3.0 field?" Since it was a student-led event, more than 80% of the participants were students, so I thought about what I could talk about while thinking back to my student days.
I remember that when I was a student, self-development business books were all the rage. My friends often told me about the books they must have read the night before.
